Handbook of Easy to Use Activities for Teaching Autistic Childrenand
children with autism spectrum disorders and other learning disabilities
by Barbara Bazeghi

$29.95
2006, ISBN 0-9753115-0-6
Throughout her eight
years of working with children with autism, Bazeghi created a number of
methods for teaching easy to use activities. These activities were developed
through trial and error, and she has compiled the most successful ones
into Recipe Handbook. The purpose of this handbook is to offer a new approach,
giving the reader something that is not currently available. It offers
experimental activities that can be applied quickly and with very little
preparation. Instead of adding to the excellent number of books, magazines,
and journals, it complements them with hands-on activities. The book consists
of four sections:
-
Activities: includes
language, math, colors and shapes, inclusion/circle of friends, and
applied activities
-
Methods: includes
charts, schedules, and How to
techniques
-
Problem Solving:
includes practical suggestions to deal with difficult situations such
as temper tantrums, toilet training, and fixations
-
Commercial Resource
Index: includes an reference to websites, catalogs, suppliers, materials,
and information that is pertinent to the education of special needs
children.
The handbook also
includes many activities, sample letters and notes to parents and faculty,
reproducible pages, and a problem solving section.
